AUBURN – Jen Cullen allowed no runs on five hits in seven innings to lead St. Dom’s to a 12-0 victory over Traip in Game 1 of a softball doubleheader Saturday.

Saints’ Katlyn Bermudez belted a three-run triple in the fourth and Kate Edlinger went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Laura Robitzek went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.

Brandi Barrott hit a triple and Amanda Higgins doubled for Traip.

In Game 2, Robitzek hit two triples, had four RBIs and scored three times as the Saints crushed Traip 22-1.

Chelsea Murphy doubled, tripled, drove in a pair of runs and had three runs scored. Cullen scattered four hits in five innings to grab her fifth victory of the season.

Mary Lewis hit a home run and finished with three RBIs and a pair of runs for St. Doms (9-2).

Barrott had two hits and scored a run for Traip (0-7).

Dirigo 13, Wiscasset 7

WISCASSET – The Dirigo Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run double by Shannon Daley and never looked back as they defeated Wiscasset 13-7 in MVC softball action Saturday.

Michelle Holmquist, Ashley Noyes and Daley each had two hits for Dirigo (9-2).

Starting pitcher Katie Hutchinson picked up her fourth win in five innings of work.

Lauren Etter hit an RBI triple for Wiscasset (2-8).

Hebron 6, Kents Hill 0

HEBRON – Tiffany Bichrest was solid at the plate as Hebron coasted to a 6-0 win over Kents Hill to notch its third MAISAD championship in the past three years in softball action Saturday.

Daniella Lyons hit the first pitch of the game to deep left field for a lead-off triple. Kainani Stevens followed with a double to left, plating Lyons for the only run Hebron would need.

Bichrest, Lyons, and Katherine Cole each had a pair of hits for Hebron.

Defensively, shortstop Cole, second baseman Kailey Bubier, and first baseman Molly Curtis combined for nine infield outs to provide fine support for pitcher Sarah Irish. Irish gave up seven hits and walked one while striking out three for the win.

Kents Hill pitcher Lili Pettengill gave up eight hits and two walks, while striking out five, but succumbed to six runs in the loss.

Lincoln 7, Oak Hill 3

WALES – Catcher Niki Poland went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI to lead Lincoln Academy to a 7-3 win over Oak Hill in softball action Saturday.

The Eagles (7-3) received offensive output from Rebecca Rice, Cassie Berry and Trisha Higgins, each recording a pair of hits.

Megan Blais went 2-for-2 for the Raiders (7-3), including a triple, while Shannon Safford went 2-for-4 and Becca Roberts added a double and an RBI.

Lacrosse

Heborn 11, Gould 9

HEBRON – Jill Maclsaac scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the final 1:12 of the game as Hebron went on to win its third MAISAD championship in the past three years with an 11-9 victory over Gould in girls’ lacrosse action Saturday.

Hebron trailed 4-2 at the midpoint, but Maclsaac produced seven goals in the second half to turn the tide on Gould.

Taylor Fey chipped in with two goals, Fiona McTeigue had one goal and two assists, KJ Forand had one goal and Liane Quenneville earned an assist to round out the scoring for Hebron.

Molly Fitzgerald had three goals on the day for Gould, including the game-tying goal at the two-minute mark.

Goalie Steph Roy performed well in net for Hebron with 17 saves, while Jen Guneyli recorded 14 saves for Gould.
