OXFORD – “Unlocking the Da Vinci Code,” a 90-minute national simulcast event via satellite, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Oxford Advent Christian Church on Route 26. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

The program is in response to the book and movie “The Da Vinci Code,” which has spawned worldwide media attention.

Featuring best-selling authors Lee Strobel, Mark Mittelberg and Erwin Lutzer, the presentation will answer the following questions:

• Where does the fact end and the fiction begin?

• Is historical Christianity a fourth-century invention?

• Was the divinity of Jesus voted on at the Council of Nicaea?

• Were Jesus and Mary Magdalene married?

• Are the books in the Bible the right ones?

• Is Christ just another religious figure or mortal prophet?

Hosted by Strobel and Mittelberg, the broadcast by Church Communication Network opens with Strobel in Paris, the site of the fictional murder that opens “The Da Vinci Code.”

Strobel, a former atheist and award-winning legal editor for the Chicago Tribune, is the author “The Case for Christ” and “The Case for a Creator.” Mittelberg is executive director of evangelism for Willow Creek Association in Barrington, Ill., and co-author of “Becoming a Contagious Christian.”

Lutzer, senior pastor of the historic Moody Church in Chicago and author of “The Da Vinci Deception” will address the historical issues raised by both the book and movie, according to CCN.
