Matthew J. Bennett, CNA, of Poland, recently received the Emerging Student Leader Award from the University of Maine in Orono Division of Student Affairs. The award is given to a rising student leader with less than two years of dedicated involvement in student life and who has exemplified a commitment to enhancing the campus community, student organizations and his personal leadership development.
Bennett is involved in Residents on Campus as the vice president for programming. He is treasurer for the Orono Student Nurses’ Association and site-leader for the University of Maine’s alternative spring break program. He will receive his bachelor of science in nursing in 2008. Bennett is a graduate of Poland Regional High School Class of 2004. His parents are Diane and Robert Bennett of Poland.
