UNION – John A. Howe, 57, formerly of Rumford, died Sunday, May 21, at Seven Tree Manor, where he had resided since 1983.
He was born in Rumford on Jan. 28, 1949, a son of John and Estella (Goddard) Howe and had attended Stephens High School in Rumford. He served during the Vietnam War with the First U.S. Army, Co. A., 11th Engr. Bn.
Survivors include his mother, Estella Glover of Rumford; sisters, Joyce Wright and husband, Edwin, of Plaistow, N.H., and Dorothy Cushman of Bryant Pond; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, John Howe.
