LEWISTON – Richard Edward Poulin Sr., 66, of New Portland died May 23, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Waterville the son of Jethro E. and Jeannette M. (Gauvreau) Poulin Sr. He was educated in the schools of New Portland. On July 23, 1960, he married Janet Sargent in Farmington. He worked as a diesel mechanic his whole life and in 1990 started Poulin’s Garage in New Portland with his three sons, where he worked until his death. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. His life revolved around his home and his family, especially his grandchildren. He was well-known for his kind heart.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet (Sargent) Poulin; his 10 children, Richard E. Poulin Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Bonnie Poulin-LeMar and her husband, Paul, Patricia White and her husband, Cecil, Julie Poulin and her fianc, Scott Bunnell, Becky Small and her husband, Peter, Raymond Poulin and his companion, Buffi Phillips, Jennifer Richardson and her husband, Todd, Jeannette Holt and her husband, Dan, Christopher Poulin and his wife, Trisha, and Kerri Beth Poulin; 22 grandchildren; one great-grand-daughter; two sisters, Dolores Arsenault and her husband, Gene and Sheila Hoyt and her husband, Earlon; and many, many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Maurice, Roger, Jethro Jr., and Reggie; and a sister Dolores “Big Sister”.
