PORTLAND – Outfielder David Murphy and right-handed pitcher Barry Hertzler of the Portland Sea Dogs have been promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Murphy, the Sea Dogs MVP in 2005, has a team-high 25 RBIs and leads the Eastern League with 17 doubles in 2006. Murphy, a first round draft choice of the Red Sox in the 2003 draft, was hitting .273 with three home runs.

Hertzler has appeared in 16 games for Portland this season, collecting four saves and posting a 1.05 ERA.

He was an 11th round pick, also in the 2003 draft.

Outfielder Chris Durbin and left-handed pitcher Randy Beam were activated from the disabled list.
