LEWISTON – Hammond Lumber earned a pair of victories in the Major Division. Jeff Turcotte walloped a walk-off grand-slam homer in the last of the sixth to provide a thrilling 8-4 victory over Aroostook Fence. He hit a 2-run blast earlier in the game. Alec Collins and Tyler Goyette shared the mound duties. Other top sticks for Hammond were Ryan Lavoie and Cheech Michaud. Ryan Rossignol pitched well for Aroostook, allowing just 2 hits in 5 innings. . . Hammond nipped Dube Gravel 9-8 in game 2. Trevor St. Claire sparked the offense with 2 hits, a walk and 4 RBI. Lavoie hurled the first 4 innings, with Devon Beland pitching the last 2 for the save. Willie Desmaris and Chris Defosse led Dube.

Auburn Suburban

AUBURN – Rotary defeated Play It Again Sports 13-1 in softball action. Winning pitcher Kristen aided her cause with a 3-run homer. Other hitters were Emily Cobb, Amanda Turcotte and Nicole Leavitt.

Pepsi outslugged Healy Associates of South Lewiston 14-12 in the Major Softball Division. Hannah Sterling hurled 3 innings for the win. Miranda Casey was perfect at the plate with a homer, double and single. Elizabeth Packard drove in the winning run. For Healy, Kourtney Bartlett belted a bases-loaded triple. Brittney Bell and Meghan Girouard sparkled defensively.
