MECHANIC FALLS – Francis C. Small, 73, of Mechanic Falls died Sunday, May 28, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born in Lubec on Jan. 30, 1933, the son of Bernard and Flossie Barker Small. He was educated in Lubec schools. In 1951, he married Eleanor Laskey and together they raised four children that he was very proud of. In 1993, he retired from Pineland Center as an accountant for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, softball, and just being outdoors. His favorite times were when he was with his family. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor of Mechanic Falls; four children, Janice Martin of Hudson, N.H., Mary Martin and her husband, Forrest, Robert Small and his wife, Debra and Michael Small, all of Mechanic Falls; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Terrence Jr., Christian, Amy, Emily, Aaron, and Abigail; and a brother, Herbert Small and his wife, Alicia, of Fort Pierce, Fla.
