WEST PARIS – The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD Program crime prevention for senior citizens hung May baskets on more than 40 senior citizens in the West Paris and Andover areas on May 1.

The May baskets were made by the TRIAD members at a monthly meeting. It was the third time TRIAD has delivering baskets.

The basket were decorated with colored paper, decorated with flowers and filled with a variety of items, including crime prevention information on identity theft, how to stop junk mail/phone calls and the sheriff’s office 1-800 phone number.

The project is an opportunity for people to work together with a goal of crime prevention for senior citizens.

TRIAD meets the fourth Monday of every month at the Maine Veterans Home on High Street, South Paris. The group will hold a Senior Citizens Appreciation Day Picnic from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. It will be free for all senior citizens. There will be food, musical entertainment, information booths, door prizes, a Chinese auction and 50/50 drawing.
