Although now residing in Lewiston, I lived in Auburn for many years. As a lifelong Democrat, having first become active while living in Westchester County in New York and meeting Harry Truman at one of his “whistle stops,” I’ve worked on a great many campaigns.

Moving to Maine in 1971, I have campaigned for Muskie, Hathaway, Brennan, Allen, Michaud and Baldacci. I can honestly say, and not because I’m serving as his campaign treasurer, that Donald Bernard is, without doubt, one of the hardest-working candidates I have known.

He has proven to me to be extremely sincere in his desire to help Maine stay on the right playing field to bring about changes that would help our tax burden, better housing, senior conditions and to keep our youngsters here in Maine.
