BRIDGTON – Brady Blackman fired a four-hitter, surrendered just two unearned runs and struck out 12 batters to lead St. Dom’s to a 4-2 victory over Lake Region in the regular-season finale.

The Saints (4-0) gave Blackman all the support he would need by scoring three times in the first inning. Michael Carpenter drove in two with a double and Greg LaBonte followed with an RBI single. LaBonte added an insurance run in the seventh on a deep sacrifice fly to center following singles by Carpenter and Andy Allen.

Carpenter, Allen and Willie Emerson had two hits apiece for the Saints.

Blackman (4-0) allowed both runs in the first inning when a two-out double by Ryan Anderson and a single by Tim Smith scored both runs.

Buckfield 5, Rangeley 1

RANGELEY – Luke Hammond had a solid performance on the mound for Buckfield with 10 strikeouts to lead Bucks onward to a 5-1 win over Rangeley in EWC baseball action Tuesday afternoon.

Zack Conett hit two singles and ended the day with three RBIs, while Dillon Emery smacked an RBI double for the Bucks (14-2).

Winthrop 15, Livermore Falls 2

LIVERMORE FALLS – Travis Frautten belted out a grand slam in the fourth inning as Winthrop dominated over Livermore Falls 15-2 in MVC baseball Tuesday.

Travis Hassenfuss smacked a solo homer in the third, while David Ricker had three doubles and four RBIs to finish the day for the Ramblers (11-4). Both Frautten and Rusty Schmelger each had two doubles apiece, as well, while Corey Gillespie contributed with an RBI double.

The Andies (6-9-1) were paced by Karlton Jones with a double, while Kevin Gats and Kyle Stebbins each had two hits apiece.

EL 7, Leavitt 1

AUBURN – John Alexander had a pair of hits, including two RBIs as Edward Little topped Leavitt 7-1 in a KVAC baseball matchup.

Colby Malcolm contributed two hits and an RBI, while Matt Meserve hit an RBI double for the win. Eddies (10-6) relief pitcher Derek Doucette had a strong performance on the mound, tossing a timely strikeout that ended a bases-loaded sixth inning for Leavitt.

Evan Barker had two hits, including the lone RBI of the game to bring home Dan Buzzell for the Hornets (3-13).

Gardiner 3, Oxford Hills 2

GARDINER – Brandon LeBourdais singled with two-outs in the bottom of the ninth to bring home Devon Brown and score the game-winning run, lifting Gardiner to a 3-2 win over Oxford Hills Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle Stilphen hit a triple, while Mike Burdin and Brown each hit a double for the Tigers (10-6).

Burdin had a strong day on the mound, striking out four batters, walking none, and giving up two unearned runs in nine innings. Russell Estes hit a double for the Vikings (9-7).

Lacrosse

Oak Hill 9, Gardiner 8

WALES – Joe Gilbert and Casey Behne tallied what would prove to be the game-winning and insurance goals, respectively, as Oak Hill dropped Gardiner 9-8 in a hard-fought lacrosse battle Tuesday.

Kevin Laplante led all goal scorers with five, while Gilbert ended the contest with two goals and two assists. Zac Eaton contributed a goal and an assist for the Raiders (9-3).

Kolby Pinkham netted four goals for the Tigers (11-1), while Brad Carlton chipped in with two.

The two teams will meet again on Friday for the KVAC finals in Lewiston.
