Lodge meeting

CANTON – Whitney Lodge 167 will hold a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at the lodge. The meeting wil be preceded by a pork loin supper at 6:30 p.m. All Master Masons are welcome.

Musical program

RUMFORD – The Mountain Valley High School auditorium will come alive at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, with the sound of young singers and dancers as Expressive Movement PAC Inc. presents “A Musical Journey.”

Summer fest

BETHEL – The Midsummer Festival and Summer Solstice Sculpture Race – A Celebration of Creativity, Art and Science will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at the Meadow, Route 2.

The sculpture race will start at noon, and submissions will be accepted up through the day of the event ($10 submission fee). Norway native, singer/songwriter, Heather Pierson and the Common Drum will perform. The Thunder Mountain Clan, medieval sword fighting, will give a demonstration in full medieval armor.

The festival is sponsored by a partnership of the Bethel Area Artist Community, the Mahoosuc Arts Council, SAD 44 Adult and Community Education/Creative Economy Education Initiative and the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce and in part by the Maine Community Foundation.
