AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a four-part certificate program in customer service (CCS 027-01) from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, June 19 to July 17 (no class on July 3). The cost of $95 will include materials.
The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of high quality customer service to team leaders, shift supervisors, wait staff and anyone else in the hospitality or food service industry.
Participants will learn the importance of creating a culture of customer service, how to communicate with customers using tested techniques in a variety of media channels, how the customer’s perspective and experiences impact what they expect and how to maintain a high level of quality customer service that can set the organization apart from its competition.
The facilitator will be Polly McCauley. McCauley is a graduate of the University of Colorado and the Bentley College Business Management Program. She has a diverse background in designing and implementing strong customer-focused processes to improve corporate profitability and service.
After 25 years as a paramedic/firefighter in Colorado, McCauley came to Maine in 1990 to design, implement and monitor the state’s emergency medical services department’s quality improvement system.
She continues to provide consulting services nationally and internationally. She also spent 10 years as a customer service representative and a training developer at L.L. Bean Inc. and most recently has started a home-based training and service business.
