PARIS – Foster-Carroll Post 72, American Legion, and Auxiliary held installation of officers at the May meeting.

Auxiliary officers elected and installed were: president, Lillian Herrick; first vice president, Virginia Gammon; second vice president, Diana Rolfe; secretary, Pat Dyer; treasurer, Marilyn Ramsay; chaplain, Peggy Turner; historian, Marguerite Johnson; sergeant-at-arms, Jean Lomonte; Executive Committee, Mable Dunn, Pat Foster and Leora Kennison.

Post 72 installed the following: commander, Joe Lomonte; first vice commander, William Herrick; chaplain, Gilbert Turner; Americanism officer, William Damon; historian, Joanne Hill; adjutant, Art Hill; sergeant-at-arms, George Brown.

The recent Poppy Drive raised $2,622 for the welfare fund to help local veterans and their families. Veteran George Brown was given a gift certificate for $25 for bringing in the most donations after two days of standing in front of Wal-Mart with poppies.

Abigail Rogers, junior member, has been awarded a special scholarship by the Auxiliary Department of Maine. Project Graduation was given $25 by the unit. The chicken pie supper and Chinese auction held in April raised $2,175.

There will be a public chicken pie supper to benefit the Western Maine Veterans’ Home from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the hall.
