WILTON – The Garden Club Federation of Maine, Kennebec District, held its annual meeting at the Boiler Room on May 23. The theme was “Bees and Bonnets,” with members parading colorful bonnets. The Mount Blue Garden Club hosted the meeting.

Agnes Brooks, president of Mount Blue Garden Club, welcomed 59 members and guests from Bloomfield, Central Maine, Kennebec Valley, Waterville Community and Mount Blue Garden Clubs. Patricia Michaud, district director, conducted a brief business meeting with all clubs reporting on happenings of the last year.

Carol Cottrill, owner of Fox Run Farm in Rumford, master beekeeper and a member of the Western Maine Beekeepers Association, offered insights on beekeeping in Maine.
