Legion to install
AUBURN – American Legion Post 31 will meet at the post home on Monday, June 12, 426 Washington St. A social and lunch from 6 to 7 p.m. will be followed by installation of officers with Department Vice Commander Don Simoneau officiating.
Auxiliary officers will also be installed by installing officer, Edith Lemieux. All members are welcome.
Society speaker
LISBON FALLS – Guest speaker for Lisbon Historical Society at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, will be Lori Metayer of the Life Flight medical team.
Members will meet at the Lisbon Historical Society Archive Museum, rooms 5 and 6, MTM Center, 18 School St., back entrance. The public is welcome; free admission.

Elder issues
LEWISTON – An elder law attorney will talk on life insurance, investments and estate planning from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15.
Attorney Kathleen Kienitz will be the speaker in the Club 50 room next to Campus Cuisine at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. A healthy lunch will be served. Preregister by Monday, June 12, at 753-5467. The cost is $5.
Pioneers to meet
LEWISTON – The Stevens Life Member Club, Telephone Pioneers, will hold a luncheon meeting on Wednesday, June 21, at the Ramada Inn. Fellowship will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon followed by a short business meeting.
Nonperishable food and monetary donations will be collected for the Sisters of Charity Food Pantry on Bates Street. Deadline for reservations is Friday, June 16.
Bible school
BOWDOIN – West Bowdoin Baptist Church’s annual Vacation Bible School will be held from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. June 26 through 30.
There will be a closing program on Friday evening, June 30, that will feature a skit and accompanying songs that children will learn throughout the week, followed by an ice cream social.

LIMESTONE – Richard Curtis, son of Linda and Franklin Curtis of Sabattus, and Gary Parker, son of Brenda Parker of Turner, have been accepted for fall enrollment as sophomores at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. More information about the school is available at www.mssm.org.
Bridge play
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on June 5 were: first, Joan and Herb Bunker; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry; fourth, Ellie and Lindy Wigton; fifth, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird.
