FARMINGTON – The garden wedding of 2nd Lt. Edward J. Gilchrist and Leslie A. Farr was held at 4 p.m. on June 4, 2005, at the home of Gilbert (Specs) and Grace Eaton in Farmington. Bishop David Hyde of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Gilchrist is the daughter of R. Lance and Coleen Farr of Highland Ranch, Colo. Mr. Gilchrist is the son of Greg and Jan Gilchrist of Avon, and Gilbert and Grace Eaton of Farmington.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full-length strapless satin gown. The bodice and train were trimmed with hand-beaded pearls, and the full-length veil was created by the mother of the bride. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, daisies and baby’s breath, with blue and yellow accents.

Lauren Farr, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Tracy Jackson, friend of the bride, and Brooke Gilchrist, sister of the bridegroom. Flower girl was Shelby Cumings, cousin of the bridegroom.

Jerome Gilchrist served as best man for his nephew, and ushers were Adam Staire and Dimitre Grillos, friends of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Colby Gilchrist, cousin of the bridegroom.

Readers were Lance and Coleen Farr and Grace Eaton. Music selections were chosen by the couple and played by Steve and Leslie Bull for the wedding and the reception.

An outdoor reception followed at the home of the bridegroom, after which the couple spent a week on Chebeague Island, followed by a six-week tour of Hawaii and Australia.

The bride is a graduate of Arapahoe High School in Colorado and a 2006 graduate of the University of Colorado and Colorado Springs.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Mt. Blue High School and a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. He is currently a second lieutenant stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga., where he begins his pilot training in July.
