DIXFIELD – Experience on one hand and new blood on the other won out at Tuesday’s ballot box in uncontested races for two selectmen seats and two of three SAD 21 board seats.
Incumbent Selectman Brenda Turbide retained her seat, garnering 206 votes. Newcomer Brad E. Dyer tallied 171 votes, taking the seat vacated by Eugene Skibitsky, who chose not to run again.
Incumbent SAD 21 Director Leslie Skibitsky tallied 188 votes for another three-year term, and newcomer Melissa A. Dumeny got 188 votes for one of two other available seats.
Incumbents Sonya Fuller and David Berry did not seek re-election to another term.
Ronda Palmer unofficially won the third SAD 21 seat, getting two write-in votes. She was the only one of 15 write-in candidates to receive two votes. It’s unofficial because no one knows if she’ll take the position, Town Clerk Vickie Carrier said Tuesday night.
If she passes it up, selectmen must appoint someone to the three-year term.
