AUBURN – The fourth Teen Summer Reading Program will be held from June to August at the Auburn Public Library. Teens will have the opportunity to turn in reading sheets, attend summer reading activities and spend some time in the teen room.

They will also receive small prizes, coupons to local eateries, free books and a chance to win a portable DVD player. Summer through fall there will be a monthly Auburn Teen Library advisers meeting where teens can help plan activities, select books and create a fun space.

Beginning in July on Thursdays through the summer and fall a Teenior Knitting Club will meet. The club is for anyone – teen to older adult to knit and share pointers and conversation.

Also in July teens will join teens from the Auburn Public Library in California to discuss online the fantasy book, “Eragon,” by Christopher Paolini. Copies are available for teens to borrow. It is a book about a teen in medieval times who finds what he thinks is a beautiful, unique stone, which turns out to be a Dragon’s Egg.

Special events will include a pizza party/book swap, where teens bring one or more books to swap, and have free pizza and beverages. Also in July, origami, the Japanese art of paper-folding, drawing and pastels will be offered.
