POLAND – The second-annual Oxford Homes Employee Golf Tournament was held recently at Summit Golf Course to benefit Christmas for Kids in the Oxford Hills region.

More than 50 Oxford Homes employees and associates participated in the event, raising over $700 for the local charity.

Oxford Homes holds a year-long fund raising effort to benefit Christmas for Kids that includes the golf tournament, a lawn sale, bake and food sales and raffles. This year’s goal is to top the $10,000 raised in 2005.

Dan Kimball and Tim Hilden won the event with a score of 4-under par. Closest to the pin was Derek Varney at a distance of 17 feet, Long drive honors went to Phil “Boom Boom” Jendrick with an absolute bomb off the first tee. Since the kids are the real winners in the competition, even the 12th runners-up, Joe Chamberlain and Adam Woodward, were recognized.

Women’s league will begin Monday, June 26 at 5:30 p.m. The course will be closed on Monday evenings for eight weeks.
