Bible school

HEBRON – Bethlehem Village is the theme for Bible school at Hebron Community Baptist Church to take place from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Wednesday, June 26 through 28. All children ages 4 to 10 are welcome to share in the crafts, games, discussions and refreshments centered around family life in the Bethlehem of Jesus’ birth.

Director and organizer Nancy Turner, with the help of Tracey Hartnett, Mary Beth Eichorn, Velma Farnsworth, Helen Davidson and Meredith Dalessandro, will supervise creative activities that demonstrate how people lived in Bible times.

The day will start with a Bible lesson and songs. Participants will choose a tribe and learn how tribal life was organized. They will create shops such as the bakery, the dye shop and the grain mill, and make toys and musical instruments of the time.

Live auction

PARIS – Norway/Paris Kiwanis and Oxford Hills Rotary Clubs will host a two-night live auction under the big tent at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Friday and Saturday, July 7 and 8. The auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. each night with a giant flea market Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday during the Kiwanis all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.

Funds will benefit children’s charities and community service efforts. Used cars, sports equipment, furniture, new items, business gift certificates, overnight bed and breakfast stays, dining, household items and jewelry are to be auctioned.

Members of both clubs are seeking donations and people may call Janice at 744-0204 to arrange pick-up.
