Dear Sun Spots: There is another moms’ group in the Lewiston/Auburn area, and our name is Moms of Maine. MOMs was established as an avenue to meet other moms, develop friendships, offer support and to provide our children with an environment in which they can learn and grow. Usually every week we have two to three kid-centered activities and one moms-only activity. If anyone is interested in receiving more information about our group, please contact President Wendy Cassidy at 353-1611 or swg1@verizon.net. Thanks for sharing,. – Jamie Ouellette, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for a child’s sweater pattern, size 4 to 8, that consists of Batman, Spiderman and Superman. I am more than willing to pay for copies and mailing. Dear Sun Spots: Thank you for the wonderful service you provide Sun Journal readers. I never miss your column.

Can you please help me find a person who can professionally repair broken crystal and china? An accident in my home caused a few very special pieces to be broken, some of which go back 50 years. It would be wonderful to be able to use them again. – Phyllis Dow, South Paris.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots has used Alfred at Jewelry by Alfred, 770 Main St., Lewiston, 782-7206 in the past. Please contact him at the above number to discuss your repair needs.

Dear Sun Spots: I have several trophies to give to any organization that can use them. They must be picked up. Please phone 225-2674. Please leave a message if I’m not here. Thank you. – Shirley Braley, Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: I, too, searched all over for the Nabisco Milk Lunch Crackers. What I did find was Mrs. Alison’s Milk Lunch New England Biscuits in Shaw’s. They are almost the same, but thinner. – S.R.T., Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: Do you have the phone number for the Do Not Call list? I moved and must have lost it. I am receiving a lot of calls from a mortgage company and would like to have them stopped.

I love your column and read it every day. Keep up the good work! – No Name, Canton.

Answer: The National Do Not Call Registry may be reached by visiting www.donotcall.gov or calling 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you want to register. You will receive fewer telemarketing calls within three months of registering your phone number. It will stay in the registry for five years or until it is disconnected, or until you take it off the registry. After five years, you will be able to renew your registration.

This column is for you, our readers. It is for your questions and comments. There are only two rules: You must write to the column and sign your name (we won’t use it if you ask us not to). Letters will not be returned or answered by mail, and telephone calls will not be accepted. Your letters will appear as quickly as space allows. Address them to Sun Spots, P.O. Box 4400, Lewiston, ME 04243-4400. Inquiries can also be posted at www.sunjournal.com in the Advice section under Opinion on the left-hand corner of your computer screen.
