RUMFORD – Constance Holdgate, an oncology nurse at Rumford Hospital, recently passed the examination to become an oncology certified nurse, a designation she held previously when she worked at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Holdgate, a registered nurse for 31 years, has worked as an oncology nurse for nearly 10 of those.

Holdgate and her husband live on Mt. Abram. They moved to western Maine from the coast to be nearer the places where they had often camped and fished. The mother of two grown sons, Holdgate also enjoys reading, knitting and fly tying.
