BROWNFIELD – A fire that erupted while the family was at home gutted a mobile home Saturday morning.
No injuries were reported.
An electrical outlet that short-circuited was blamed for the blaze, said Fire Chief Richard Perreault.
Mike and Rita Korona and their young child fled the home after calling 911 at 10:45 a.m., Perreault said.
The fire started in the living room and spread to the kitchen. Firefighters put out the flames within 10 minutes after arriving at the scene.
“It was real quick,” Perreault said. The local department had backup from Denmark and Fryeburg.
The home was a total loss, Perreault said. The family is staying with her parents, who live nearby.
