Cribbage group
RUMFORD – The Rumford Senior Citizens are starting a cribbage group on Thursday afternoons at the center located at 50 Congress St. Games will start at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and stay for the games.
The bridge group on Thursday nights has started again. Call Bill Hersey for more information. SeniorsPlus has started serving meals again also. Suggested donations will be $3 and they will start in July. Bingo is held on Tuesday afternoons and everyone is welcome.
Meetings will resume in September on the fourth Monday of each month.
Bridge play
RUMFORD – The Rumford Duplicate Bridge Club opened its 2006 season on June 22. Winners were: first, Judy Roy and Lillian Irish; second, Jenn Cohen and Deb Stewart; third, Anna Cormier and Woody Mercier.
The club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Senior Citizens Hall at the Community Center, Congress Street. All bridge players are invited.
Class meeting
MEXICO – The Mexico High School class of 1959 is invited to meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Dick’s Restaurant.
Alliance meeting
WELD – The Tumbledown Conservation Alliance annual meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at the Weld Town Office, 23 Mill St., located in the same building as the post office.
The meeting agenda will include discussion on whether to the group should become a sponsor for the 2006 Maine Mountain Conference Oct. 21 at Saddleback Ski Lodge, defining a trail project to do, deciding how to deal with misuse of land and unauthorized trail clearing and other topics.
