LEEDS – Central Maine Team Penning Association and Winkler Structures will present their annual Team Penning Extravaganza on Saturday and Sunday. The event is scheduled for the club’s new location at the OK Corral on River Road in Leeds.

Riders and horses of all ages and experience levels will compete against cattle in a variety of divisions. Hundreds of dollars in prize money will be up for grabs.

In addition to the competition beginning each day at 10 a.m., there will be a pot luck barbecue on Saturday evening. CMTPA will provide hamburgers and hot dogs and requests that diners bring a dish to share.

There is a 40-team limit per class and a four-ride limit per class. Pre-registrations are recommended. Go to the group’s web site, www.cmtpa.com, for more information.

Road race to benefit Tripp Lake association

POLAND – Tripp Lake Association and Poland Recreation Department announce that the first 5-kilometer Run By the Lake is scheduled for Sunday, July 30 at 8:30 a.m.

The start-finish line will be located at Wolf Cove Bed and Breakfast on Jordan Shore Driver, and the event is billed as both a road race and a fitness walk. Registration before July 27 is $12, or $15 after that deadline. The first 100 registrants will receive a free race t-shirt.
