Dear Sun Spots: I am asking for help as I am planning to arrive in Lewiston for my 55th high school reunion in August.

I have been living in Ohio, but would appreciate your help in finding an assisted-living residence or a room to make the transition easier for my permanent move.

I am a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School, class of 1951 and have been a teacher for EMR students and also a language tutor in French, German and Russian.

Please write or call if you know of any vacancies. I can be reached at Jeannine Gauvin Thompson, 2714 13th Street NW, Room 205, Canton, OH 44708 or by phone at 330-418-5423. Thank you very much. – Jeannine G. Thompson, Canton, Ohio.

Dear Sun Spots: I scanned all my family photos to my computer and then backed them up to a Zip drive a few years ago. I no longer have the original photos because I gave them all to my children and relatives that were in the photos. My problem is all of them were accidentally deleted and my Zip drive was lost when I moved. I am desperately looking for someone in the Lewiston or Livermore Falls area who has a Zip drive that would be willing to spend five minutes just to copy one disk for me. I have a blank CD or they could be put on my flash drive. I can be reached at 207-897-9514. – Linda, from Livermore Falls.

Dear Sun Spots: I am on the prowl for Ben & Jerry’s UPC labels for a project I do with my eighth-graders. If any of your readers eat Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and would care to help, please send the UPCs (proof-of-purchase labels) to Dianne Farrington, 42 Jones St, Auburn, ME 04210. Thank you Sun Spots and thank you to all you Ben & Jerry’s ice cream eaters! – Dianne Farrington, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for a list of the actual release date of the individual state quarters for 2006, 2007 and 2008. I know which quarters will be sold for the entire year but not the individual release dates. Is there such a list? Can you help? – D. K., Rumford.

Answer: According to www.usmint.gov there is no actual date set for those being released in 2007 and 2008. However, a customer service representative at the U.S. Mint notes they’ll likely come out around the same time of year the other previously released coins have. In the meantime, the Colorado state quarter was released June 14. The North Dakota one is expected to be released Sept. 26, 2006, and the South Dakota coin on Nov. 28, 2006. Those to be released in 2007 include the states of Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. In 2008 the Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii state quarters will be released. If you’d like to ensure you get these coins upon release, you can subscribe online at the U.S. Mint Web site. Please note your credit card information and address will need to be current.

Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know how to lift an indoor-outdoor carpet that has been cemented down on a cement floor. Any information on how to take up this carpet will be greatly appreciated. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots located the following removal tip online at www.davesgarden.com. He recommends lots of muscle, gloves and if available, a shingle shovel (used to strip asphalt shingles off of the roof, but should work well to pull up carpet from cement with less strain on your back). Sun Spots also located another online suggestion to check in with your local Home Depot or other hardware store to see if they could rent a machine to remove the old glue.
