WILDER, Vt. (AP) – One of the two inmates who walked away from the New Hampshire women’s prison in Goffstown during the weekend has been caught in Vermont.

Officials say Melissa Kelly, 34, was arrested Tuesday morning in Wilder. She used to live in nearby White River Junction. Police say she has a history of arrests for charges including assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and drugs.

Kelly and Tracie West, 33, were taking out the trash and lowering the flag outside the women’s prison Sunday afternoon when they took off.

Both women were minimum security inmates.
