BRUNSWICK – Thomas Point Beach is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer with an open house from 9 a.m. to sunset Sunday, July 9. Events will include a Beautiful Beach Baby Contest, old-fashioned games, kayaking demonstrations, free ice cream for the first 50 children and plenty of music. Admission for the day is 50 cents for adults and children alike. Residents of Bath and Brunswick get in free.
In 1956, Harry and Marion Crooker purchased the run-down property and developed it into a park. Their goal was “to offer a clean, safe recreation area for families and children.”
