AUBURN – New Auburn erupted for 13 runs in the fourth inning and rolled to a 16-4 American Legion baseball triumph over Gayton.
Matt Meserve, Brady Blackman and David Lutz all ripped two-run doubles during the outburst. John Alexander and Justin Ciszewski chipped in with RBI singles in the inning.
Gayton took a 4-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Chad Guimond and RBI singles by Will Emerson and Nick Langlais.
Winning pitcher Ciszewski, Lutz and Kyle Bussiere led New Auburn (9-1) with two hits apiece. Guimond, Langlais and Luke Potter had two hits each for Gayton (5-9).
