Dear Sun Spots: My name is Sara and I am organizing Vacation Bible School for my church this year. The theme is “Under the Big Top.” I am writing to ask readers for some help and/or donations. If anyone is willing, we are looking for someone who is a clown or can juggle, to teach the kids. If anyone knows how to do clown makeup and/or knows what kind of makeup to use and where to purchase it at low cost, that would be greatly appreciated. We also would like to rent a bouncy house and cotton candy machine for a low cost or donation. If you have any clown costumes, the kids would enjoy using those for dress-up. If you can help us or give us leads for any of the above, please call me at 783-9560. Thank you very much, Sara. – Sara Spellman, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: I have two questions. One: Can you please tell me if they’re going to bring back the show “Biggest Losers”? And two, I don’t have a computer. Where can we go to learn how to use computers? Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, regarding your first question, according to www.nbc.com, season three is scheduled to air in September. Season four is currently casting. If you are finally ready to shed the pounds once and for all with expert trainers and nutritionists, you might consider applying. To do so, make a five minute VHS, DVD or mini DV videotape. Mail it ASAP, including a picture (if possible). Tapes must be postmarked by Aug. 4 and should be sent to: The Biggest Loser Casting, Central Park West Productions c/o 3Ball Productions, P.O. Box 578, Manhattan Beach, CA 90267-0578.

Include in your videotape why you should be on “The Biggest Loser.” Make your video as personal as possible. Start with your name and hometown. (For example, you can take the show on a tour of your typical day.) Show them, don’t just tell them, why you need to lose the weight. Finally, let them know why you are a great candidate for the show. Remember, they want to see your personality. Have fun and good luck!

Regarding your second question, Sun Spots urges you to contact your local adult education department to see what courses it might be offering in the fall. The Lewiston Adult Education will have its fall brochure available the first week in August. If you are a Lewiston or Auburn resident, you will automatically receive it. Otherwise call to request a copy or pick one up at the office. It can be reached at 156 East Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240, (207) 795-4141.
