BRUNSWICK – The Theater Project will offer a new look at a favorite tale this month. “OZ: Revisiting the Wizard” will begin a three-week run at the theater today and close Sunday, Aug. 6. Director Al Miller adapted L. Frank Baum’s book, and Jim Hall has written music for the production.
Miller, who is also directing the production, has cast a combination of Theater Project veterans and alumni. Lee K. Paige plays the witches and Aunt Em. Michele Livermore Wigton is the Lion. Tom Babbitt is the Scarecrow, and Elliott Cumming returns from years abroad to play the Tin Woodman.
Will Snow plays the mysterious Oz and Elizabeth Lardie, back from completing university studies in Australia, is Dorothy.
Young Company actors Patrick McGuire and Lauren Cross play monkeys, munchkins and a variety of other minions in the story.
Jim Hall has composed music for Miller’s lyrics in this adaptation.
The show is intended for both children and adults.
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays. Suggested ticket price is $15. For information and reservations, call The Theater Project box office, 729-8584, or visit 14 School St.
