SABATTUS – Winners have been announced for the Sabattus Pond Watership’s 4th Annual Fishing Derby.

First place in the Northern Pike Division was Chase Hunter of Lisbon, a fish weighing 3.0-pounds.

Dan Fortin, last year’s winner in the Other Fish Category was the leader again with a 3.1-pounder.

Many pike, bass and perch were caught.

Oxford Mud Run

OXFORD – Following were the top 3 finishers in each class at the Oxford Mud Run held July 23:

Class 1: Casey Gillespie, David Gray, Lee Gosselin; Class 2: Bill Foster, Holly Foster, James Morton; Class 3: Jason Mansfield, Chris Smith, John Hatch; Class 4: Jeremy Flint, Mike Ferland, Casey Nolan; Class 5: Clay Andrews, Steve Bartlett, John Hatch; Class 6: Clay Andrews, Ron Pike, Ron Pare; Class 7: Doug Walter, Ken Merlock; Class 8: John Kilgore, Doug Walters.

Next mud run is set for August 20.

Rugby showcase slated

AUBURN – Auburn and Lewiston’s own Leviathan Rugby Club, and Auburn Parks and Recreation Department, are joining forces to present a Rugby Showcase. The event, featuring teams from Maine and New Hampshire, will take place on Saturday, July 29 on the soccer field behind the Auburn Middle School on outer Court Street.

The showcase will offer youth clinics and demonstrations to help people learn about the game. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with demonstrations and workshops. First match is set for 1:30. A concession stand will be available.
