Dear Sun Spots: I have a special request, and I hope that you will print it.

My mom is 88 and has the beginnings of dementia.

She was married for 65 years and lost her husband last January. She is very lonely. I would like to ask anyone who reads this and has compassion to please send her a get well-card. She loves to get mail, and I believe it would cheer her up. She waits for the mailman every day and gets nothing. For those of you who respond to this, I want to thank you very much and God bless. Her name is Blanche Clavet, 127 Howe St., Lewiston, ME 04240. – Her Daughter, Lucille G., No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Thanks for all the help you’ve given me and others.

Here goes again.

I need a replacement exhaust fan that goes through the wall by my stove. The opening is eight inches. I can’t seem to find one. Thank you for any help. – B.G., Turner.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, have you tried contacting Agren Appliance, 40 Minot Ave., Auburn, ME 04210, 800-335-0235 or 784-0235? It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It has exhaust fans, and Sun Spots would encourage you to contact it to discuss your needs.

Dear Sun Spots: I have several old super 8 home movie films that I would like transferred to DVD. Is there someone in the Rumford/Lewiston area who offers this service or has this capability? Thank you in advance. – Sarah S., Peru.

Answer: Sun Spots is not aware of any, but hopefully there are some readers out there who will be willing to assist you in your quest.

Dear Sun Spots: To the lady who has religious items to dispose of: If they’re in good condition, I would gladly accept them. I gather items for Mother Teresa’s Mission in Haiti, and those items could be put to good use. Please call me if you’re interested. We could make arrangements to meet in Lewiston somewhere, as I have often done in the past for donations. My phone number is 364-3816. Thank you, Sun Spots. I really enjoy your column. – O. P., Mexico.

Dear Sun Spots: I have ribbon, lace, felt and fleece, which would be good for crafting, to give away to anyone who needs it. I can be reached at 353-6754 on Mondays and Wednesdays. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: The Holy Trinity parish in Lisbon Falls is planning its second annual Christmas craft fair. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 in the parish hall, 67 Frost Hill Ave. Crafters and artisans may purchase display tables for donations of $20 for a 6-foot table or $25 for an 8-foot table. Please call Pat Tardiff at 353-5035 for your tables, as well as for more information. Thank you for your assistance. – Pat Tardiff, Lisbon Falls.
