FARMINGTON – Algie E. Rowe, 89, of Avon, died Saturday, July 29, at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Salem a daughter of the late Ralph and Angeline (Lovejoy) Strout. Algie was educated in the schools of Salem and was a graduate of Kingfield High School, Class of 1935. She married Raymond Rowe June 28, 1939 in Kingfield.

She worked at Forster Manufacturing Co. in Strong for many years and made many friends while there. She enjoyed family get-togethers, visiting friends, Red Sox ball games, cooking and sharing recipes, canning vegetables from her husband, Raymond’s garden and sewing clothing and gifts for her children.

She was a member of the Phillips Methodist Church, Methodist Women’s Group and Kings Daughters. Also, she was very active in the Phillips Senior Citizens. She was a past Cub Scout leader.

Beside her husband of 67 years, Raymond, she is survived by her children, Elizabeth Leibowitz and her husband, Ronald, of Lisbon, Errol Rowe and his wife, Jewel, of Livermore Falls, Cinda-Lee Bragdon and her husband, Maurice, of Gray and Greta Espeaignette and her husband, David, of Avon; grandchildren, Jaimie Rowe and his wife, Sue, of Lyman, David Rowe and his wife, Daphne, of Eliot, Tammy Leibowitz Rideout and her husband, James, of Lisbon, Cathy Leibowitz Havlicek and her husband, Gary, of Lisbon Falls, Holly Bragdon Patenaude and her husband, Jason, of Casco, Maurice Charles Bragdon and his wife, Michelle, of Bridgton and Alicia Rowe of Livermore Falls; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan and Nolan Havlicek, Aaron and Noah Rideout, Kyle and Abigail Rowe, Breanna Saucier and Bradon Bragdon and Bayleigh Patenaude

She was predeceased by her brother, Albert W. Strout.
