AUBURN – Anthony Bonito, 60, died Saturday, July 29, at the Hospice House after a 20-year battle with heart disease.

He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on Jan. 29, 1946, the son of Angelo Bonito and Blanche Jandron Bonito. He attended schools in the Newport School District.

He worked at G.H. Bass for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. His family and friends will sadly miss him.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane Richards Bonito of Lewiston; two sons, Anthony Bonito Jr. and fiancee, Mary, of Auburn and Allen Bonito and wife, Nikki, of Bingham; one daughter, Rhonda Bonito Thomas and husband, Bob, of Tolland, Conn.; several grandchildren, Anthony, Meeghan, Shyre, Ghillian and Dykota Bonito and Evan Thomas; and two brothers, Michael Bonito of Connecticut and Robert Bonito of California.

He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Blanche Bonito; two brothers, Joe and Angelo Jr.; and one sister, Rosie.

The family of Anthony Bonito wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care and support given by the staff aides, nurses and doctors of the Hospice House and St. Mary’s Hospital.
