Norway – Herbert W. Durant Jr., 59, of Waterford left us on July 30, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

“Skip” was born on Feb. 9, 1947, the son of Herbert W. Durant Jr. and Hazel Proctor Durant. He attended schools in North Waterford, Waterford and four years at Gould Academy.

He served his country for three years in the U.S. Army security agency in this country and Southeast Asia. He learned building from his father and did that until 1981, in which time he worked on some woods crews for a few years. He then painted houses until poor health in 2004 had him retire. He loved the outdoors, fishing and especially hunting.
