LEWISTON – Mayor Lionel C. Guay Jr. has recognized David Webster of Western Maine Transportation Services Inc. for a national bus driving competition win.

For three years in a row, Webster has taken home the first-place trophy at the annual Maine State Bus and Van ROADEO. In June Webster entered an Orlando, Fla., competition and brought home the National Community Transportation Association’s Bus Division Title.

Webster topped 58 other bus drivers from Utah to British Columbia. For both the state and national titles, Webster completed comprehensive written examinations and demonstrations of his driving abilities.

Webster received a certificate of recognition at the July 25 Lewiston City Council meeting. The certificate noted, “We are very proud to have you ‘on the road’ within our community.” Webster works as a Western Maine Transportation paratransit driver.
