AUBURN – William H. “Wild Bill” Brown Sr., 87, of Livermore Falls, died late Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

He was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Lewiston, a son of Herbert and Gertrude (Jenkins) Brown. He was educated in Harmony schools. As a young man he married Ruby Howard. She died in 1988.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was self-employed the majority of his life at various jobs including working in the woods and raising baby chicks for more than 22 years for Turner Egg Farms.

He enjoyed country music, NASCAR and picture puzzles.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Brown and her fiancé, Jim Guilmet, of Livermore Falls and Sheila Begin and her husband, Raymond, of Poland; seven grandchildren, Gene, Jimmy and Bobby Reynolds, Billy Jasper, David and Thomas Widger and Tonia McCollough; 22 great-grandchildren; and a beloved cat, Peanut.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby; a daughter, Judy Brown in 2000; and a son, William Harvey Brown Jr. in 1961.
