LEWISTON – Geraldine F. Varney, 75, of 186 Central Ave., died August 6, after a long illness at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Lewiston, on August 4, 1931, the daughter of the late John and Addie Linehan.

She married Ernest A. Varney Jr. on June 16, 1956, who passed away on July 26, 1999.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She worked at CMMC in records and in Dr. John James and Dr. Lidstone’s offices. She was a great stay at home mom.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia MacLeod and her husband, John, of Auburn, Barbara Stevens of Lewiston, Donna Spencer and her husband, Dale, of Buckfield, Terri Lambert of Clinton; her sons, John and his companion, Linda Desrochers, of Minot and Thomas of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Timothy MacLeod, Michelle, Alisha and Elizabeth Stevens, John Jr. and Brian Varney; two great-grandchildren, Alex Stevens and Jose Pineda; four sisters, Theresa Levesque and her husband, Marcel, of Westmont, Ill., Marilyn Hecker and her husband, Ronald, of Lewiston, Margaret Davenport and her husband, David, of Cape Elizabeth, Constance Timberlake and her husband, Gerald; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Linehan, all of Lewiston; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Eugene Linehan, and her sister, Eleanor Parker.
