MONMOUTH – Gerry and Jessie Sanborn on Monmouth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party on July 15 at the home of Kristin Sanborn. The outdoor barbecue was attended by many friends and family.

Party hosts were daughters of the couple, Kristin, Deanna and Darlene Sanborn and Kelly Webb. Presenting the toast was Kristin Sanborn, and Chelsea Andrews, granddaughter, had charge of the guest book.

Mr. Sanborn and the former Jessie Chudy were married on June 30, 1956, in Darien, Conn. Their children are Darlene Sanborn, Kelly Webb, Deanna Sanborn and Kristin Sanborn. Their grandchildren are Dary and Josh Stroup, Chelsea and Jenna Andrews, Abigail Webb and Corey Tatarka.

Mrs. Sanborn is a devoted mother and grandmother. She was employed from her home when her daughters were growing up. She gardens and volunteers many hours to the Cottrell-Taylor Christmas baskets.

Mr. Sanborn is a dedicated father and grandfather. He is retired from Bath Iron Works, after working there 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957, and enjoys gardening, haying and riding his tractors.

Original wedding attendant present was Mary Potratz, her sister, who was matron of honor.
