LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Henry and Fernande Leblond of Lewiston, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The event was held at the Sedgley Inn in Greene and was planned by Anita and Tom Fournier, Diane and Patrick Rohman and Julie Leblond.

The couple was escorted by their two sons-in-law, Thomas Fournier and Patrick Rohman. A large framed picture of the couple on their wedding day was displayed, along with a special framed picture of Pope Benedict XVI. Also featured was a memory quilt of family history. The tables were decorated with large peony blooms floating in a shallow glass bowl. Large peonies decorated the gift table and cake table.

Mrs. Leblond wore an orchid wrist corsage representing the orchid bouquet at her wedding and Mr. Leblond wore a red carnation boutonniere, as he did 50 years ago.

Sara-Marie Rohman, granddaughter, gave the toast. Original wedding attendant present was Delores Corson, a niece. The couple has three children, Anita Fournier, Diane Rohman and Julie Leblond.

More than 80 people came from as far as Florida, Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
