POLAND – B. Louise Russell, 71, of High View Drive, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, Aug. 19.

She was born in Topsham on February 14, 1935, the daughter of James L. and Beatrice C. Hyde.

She attended local schools, and graduated from Brunswick High School in the class of 1953. She lived in Westport Island for 16 years before moving to Poland in 2001. She was a licensed beautician. She was retired from Bath Iron Works.

She married Robert Russell on June 4, 1994.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, playing Yahtzee with her sisters, and getting together for family gatherings.

Occasional trips to the casino with her sisters were one of her favorite pastimes. She and her husband enjoyed spending time with their pet bunnies, Joey and Molly. They often spent time visiting with their children and grandchildren.

Louise was a wonderful mother and stepmother, and will be sadly missed by her husband, family, and the many friends who knew her.

She was predeceased by a son, Randy Reil, in 2004; and a brother, James L. Hyde Jr., in 1995.

She is survived by her loving husband of twelve years; her children, Victoria Cunningham of Brunswick, Douglas Reil of Brunswick, and Kenneth and Tammy Reil of Rockland; a daughter in law, Gina Reil of New Hampshire; step-children, Cindy and Robert Martin, David Russell, Gary and Wendy Russell, Lisa and David Lee, Holly and Emery Bubier, all of Poland; two sisters, Jeannette Madsen and Helen Greene, both of Bath; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins; and a god-daughter, Elaine Poole of Michigan.
