PORTLAND – Leona Kahkonen, 80, of Norway, died Friday, Sept. 1, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Stowe on July 27, 1926, the daughter of Alfred and Harriet Bickford Locke.

She was a graduate of Norway High School.

She married Edward Kahkonen on Jan. 9, 1946 and he predeceased her in 1987.

She was a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Grange, Farmers Home, and Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oxford.

She is survived by her three daughters, Edwina and Rodney Johnson of Oxford, Susan and Fred McAllister of South Paris, and Julie and Michael Harlow of Norway; a son-in-law, Wayne Goodall of Norway; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kahkonen; and a daughter, Kay Goodall.
