AUBURN – Western Maine Transportation Services Inc. will hold a dedication ceremony for its new quarters on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. at 76 Merrow Road.

Building Solutions from Oxford broke ground on the 10,000-square-foot facility in October, 2005. The plan called for the consolidation of the customer service center and maintenance facility in Auburn, with the administrative and customer service office in Mexico.

WMTS contracted with Building Solutions as the design builder for its new facility. The Mexico customer service center will be sold as part of the consolidation effort. The project is financed through TD Banknorth.

WMTS is a private, nonprofit corporation designated by the Maine Department of Transportation as a Regional Transit Corp. WMTS contracts with the Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Medical Services (Mainecare), Maine DOT, Child Development Services and other agencies to provide transportation services in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. WMTS green buses are open to the general public.
