BIDDEFORD – A day workshop, “Change in the Midst of Church,” will be given by Louise Anne Pinette de Sillar on Monday, Oct. 9, at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center.

The workshop will benefit persons working together in parishes, schools and community settings. Individuals who wish to explore the “why” of change in the church and in their lives will have the opportunity to exchange insights with others.

Louise Anne Pinette de Sillar, a native of Lewiston, lived for 27 years in Mexico with her husband and four children. She now resides in San Antonio, Texas. Her educational background includes a B.A. and a master’s in applied spirituality from the University of San Francisco and a licentiate degree in theological sciences at the Ibero Americana, the Jesuit University system in Mexico.

She served as campus minister at the Jesuit University of Guadalajara from 1992 to 1997, where she also offered the Ignatian spiritual exercises to the student body, academic, administrative and maintenance staffs and the CVX communities.

Since 1999, de Sellar has been on staff at the Mexican American Cultural Center in San Antonio where her work focused on diversity training and formation for religious and lay persons preparing to serve the church in Hispanic ministry.

She has conducted leadership training sessions with farm workers and designed programs that addressed their needs. In addition, de Sellar is a spiritual director who accompanies others in their journey of faith.

Marie Joseph Spiritual Center is located at 10 Evans Road, Route 9/208, Biddeford Pool. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m., with registration at 9 a.m.

The $30 fee includes the noon meal. Preregistration is required before Oct. 4. For information or to register, call 284-5671.
