LIVERMORE FALLS – A surprise party was held recently for Brent and Celina Gay of Livermore Falls, on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary.

The event was planned by Terri and Scott Ashton and a buffet was served by the VFW Auxiliary. White tablecloths dusted with red rose petals and red balloons and anniversary banners were featured. Photos were displayed of the couple from their dating days to the present. The floral theme cake was made by a cousin, Sue Israelson.

Mr. Gay and the former Celina Jacques were married on Aug. 22, 1966, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.

Mr. Gay is retired from International Paper, and enjoys spending time woodworking in his shop and sitting on the deck reading a good book.

Mrs. Gay is employed at the Apple Shed in Kents Hill, and enjoys gardening and spending time in the pool.

They also enjoy spending time together kayaking at local waterways.

Family and friends came from Greene, Winthrop, Livermore Falls, Jay, Livermore, Eagle Lake, Hallowell, Farmington, Lisbon Falls, Brunswick, Arrowsic, Fayette and Sabattus.
