BANGOR – Kim Alexander scored with less than seven minutes remaining to lift Bates to a 1-0 victory over Husson.

The Bobcats (1-0) controlled much of the game despite a scoreless first half. Nini Spalding made four saves to record the shutout. Leah Drew turned away 13 shots for Husson (2-1-1).

GORHAM – Josh Amoroso scored a pair of goals to lead Southern Maine to a 3-0 victory over St. Joseph’s.

GORHAM – Brittney Vogrin netted a pair of first-half goals as New England defeated the University of Maine 3-0 in collegiate field hockey action Tuesday. Jodie Dresser also tallied for the Pilgrims (5-0) to complete the scoring. Jacqui Parker made three saves in net to record the shutout.

Allie Hill handled netkeeping chores for the Huskies (0-4), turning aside 15 shots in the game.
