LEWISTON – Dana Earl Witham, 86, of Lewiston went peacefully to be with the Lord in his home on Sept. 11. The son of Henry and Ada (Greene) Witham of Lewiston.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 16, 1919, and graduated from Lewiston High School. During his 50 years at Philips Elmet Corp. he held many positions including plant supervisor. He served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, building committee chairman and was instrumental in raising funds for Christian Service Brigade. He was also known fondly as Mr. Fix-It. He was on the board of Clough Cemetery Association and for a time was a member of the Lewiston Grange.

Some of his greatest pleasures were cutting firewood, gardening, driving his tractor and feeding the birds. He also found great joy in making applesauce for friends and family.

Besides his wife, Ilda (White) of 65 years, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Dutille and husband, the Rev. H. Kenneth Dutille Jr. of Swans Island; a son, Ralph and wife, Jonola, of Sibley Iowa, a son, Edward and wife, Waltha, of Lisbon; his grandchildren include, Stephanie, Thomas, Carl, Adam, Brian, Timothy, David and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Caleb, Gunner, Cage, Abigail and Matthew.
