LEWISTON – Roger and Jeannine Turgeon of Lewiston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a family dinner at Marco’s Restaurant. Attending were Paul Turgeon and Tricia Aurigemma, Bob and Doris Ouellette, Dennis and Denise Bolger, Frank and Louise Wotton, Renee and Melanie Ouellette, and Danielle and Matthew Bolger.

Mr. Turgeon and the former Jeannine Cloutier were married on May 30, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. They have four children, Paul, Doris, Denise and Louise, and four grandchildren, Renee, Danielle, Matthew and Melanie.

Mrs. Turgeon retired from Dion Distributors in 1996, after more than 15 years working as a billing clerk. Prior to that she worked as a secretary/receptionist at a doctor’s office and was a homemaker in the early years of their marriage. She is a past member of the Ladies of St. Anne.

Mr. Turgeon worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1994. Prior to joining the post office, he was a self-employed businessman, owning a toy store and clothing store, to name a few. During his self-employment, he was involved in several community organizations as a member or director, including Holy Family Credit Union and the Exchange Club. He is currently a member of the Eagles Club in Sabattus.

Both are longtime members of Holy Family Church and Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where they currently worship and are church greeters. They are also members of the Sabattus Senior Citizens and are both graduates of St. Dominic Regional High School.
